DME, CAS & Module Programming

New, used and replacement modules almost always have to be programmed to your vehicle’s VIN and immobilizer before they will work. An unprogrammed module won’t start the car, or it throws “module not recognized” and communication faults. We program and match ECUs, DMEs, CAS units and other control modules so they fit your vehicle like the original.

What We Program

  • BMW DME / CAS programming – matching engine computers to CAS/FEM/BDC security modules
  • New and used ECM, ECU, PCM and TCM programming to your VIN
  • Body control module (BCM), SAM and FRM programming after replacement
  • Instrument cluster programming and module adaptation
  • Immobilizer (IMMO) data transfer between old and replacement modules
  • Programming on customer-supplied modules or modules we have repaired

Common Reasons You Need Programming

  • A used module from a wrecker was installed and the car won’t start
  • Replacement ECU or DME doesn’t communicate with the immobilizer
  • “Module not coded” or “VIN mismatch” fault codes after a swap
  • A software update was interrupted and the module stopped responding

Our Process

  • Read and back up the original module data (EEPROM / flash) where possible
  • Transfer VIN, immobilizer and adaptation data to the replacement unit
  • Program and code the module to your vehicle’s configuration
  • Bench-test the module before it ships back

Why Choose ECU Repair Doctor

  • Dealer-level programming without the dealer visit
  • Mail-in service from anywhere in Canada
  • Programming combined with component-level repair when the original unit is faulty
  • Most programming jobs are completed next day

Don’t replace it — repair it.

Most failed modules can be repaired for a fraction of the dealer replacement price, and come back cloned to your vehicle so there’s no extra programming visit.
